The town we live in only has two options for fresh groceries. Walmart or Meijer. We almost exclusively shop at Meijer, and are always happy with the quality and service we get there. Sometime around the beginning of the year, we heard that Meijer was partnering with Shipt to make it possible to have Meijer orders delivered to your door. Shipt hires people who will take your shopping list, buy your groceries and deliver them to you. The service typically … Read the rest
I had my birthday on Thursday. Last Monday I went shopping with my mom, using birthday money she gave me. I was excited to go to Sally’s to purchase their generic value products conditioning balm that I kept reading other curly girl method people rave about. We also stopped into Ulta and I got Not Your Mother’s Naturals Coconut shampoo, which is curly-girl friendly and is known to be ‘light’. I thought the shampoo I had been using (shea moisture) … Read the rest
I’ve written quite a bit about my own seizure history and epilepsy diagnosis. Something that sometimes surprises people, is my dad also has epilepsy. Of course, everyone then wants to ask if it’s genetic and I really don’t know.
My dad’s seizure history is quite different from my own. In a nutshell, I had seizures from birth through my first year or so of life. I had a difficult birth and had a subarachnoid hemorrhage as a result of birth … Read the rest
I’ll be 27 next month, but somehow I managed to live my entire life until this past weekend without ever going to a drive-in movie theater. There are less than a dozen drive in movie theaters in Michigan. Coldwater is about 45 minutes from where I live, so it’s not a terrible drive at all. I just had never managed to get there until this past weekend.
Tickets are $9 per adult which seems pretty typical, except you can stay … Read the rest
I’ve watched Teen Mom 2 since the beginning. Like any reality TV show, I get that drama is a somewhat significant part of the TV show. But this season so far has been absolutely awful. The episode I just got done watching “Drama’s for Nerds, Part 2 Hallway To Hell” was easily the worst, most pointless episode on Teen Mom.
Kail said multiple times that ‘she didn’t sign up to be on Jerry Springer’ which yes, was an annoying comment … Read the rest

I tried another amazon sample box. If you aren’t familiar with Amazon sample boxes, they are boxes of samples that you can purchase. They typically are somewhere between $7.99 to $19.99 per box. You get a credit for using in a certain product category on Amazon when you purchase. This way, if you regularly purchase from that category, the sample box kind of pays for itself.
I purchased the Women’s Skin and Hair … Read the rest
About 3 years ago I lost nearly 25 pounds by watching my calories. In the past 6-9 months, I’ve still tried to watch what I eat somewhat, but I haven’t actually counted calories. We’ve had a few stressful life events that caused us to put healthy eating on the back burner. I’ve gained about 10 pounds back from the lowest weight I maintained – or about 13 pounds back from the lowest weight I ever saw on the scale. It’s … Read the rest

I had my first little panic with my Nikon D3400 DSLR camera since I purchased it about six months ago. I went to take photos one day, and my camera said there was no memory card. I thought I had placed it in there, so I opened the slot and yep – it was there. Except the card was slightly popped out, not locked in. I pushed it in, expecting the sd slot … Read the rest
